First floor: Reference and Study library

Non-fiction available for loan is also on this floor, so if you are researching or studying, most of what you need will be on the same floor. Here, you will also find:

New Layout from March 2010 onwards

Overview of Changes

  • 2 Standard Self Service Kiosks were installed on the Ground Floor
  • A Child Friendly themed Kiosk was installed adjacent to the Children’s Library on the Ground floor
  • A Standard Self Service Kiosk was installed on the First floor
  • The Customer Service desk near the AV Library on the Ground floor was removed and replaced with additional shelving
  • The Customer Service desk in the Children’s Library was removed and replaced with additional child friendly shelving
  • The first floor customer service desk was removed and replaced with a seating area and staff station
  • A smaller customer service desk was added near the Online Public Access Catalogues (OPACs)for computer bookings and all manual issue and returning tasks
  • A Help/Reservations desk was added facing the main entrance for dealing with reservations and all other queries
  • Additional shelving was added next to the ground floor Customer Service desk for Reservations use
  • Additional seating was added throughout the Library
